The Saturday Learning Lounge is a time for students to focus on getting work done over the weekend. Help with with particular subjects is offered through our amazing volunteer tutors.
Oftentimes it's challenging to focus and get work done at home over the weekend. What better place to knock out a paper, focus on research, do homework, or study for a test, than school itself?
No. Sign up, come in, sign in, and get your work done. Sign out before you leave. No strings attached. This is about making sure you are able to work uninterrupted!
SLL is offered on Saturday mornings from 9AM-12PM in the GMHS Library. If you sign up we assume you will attend. Please contact us if you cannot make it!
Occasionally we will be providing complimentary breakfast! Breakfast could vary from donuts to bagels to muffins.
Yes. We would like to have a head count to accomodate all students attending and also for getting food. If you are just working on your own, choose "Study Hall" in the date options on the sign up.
All tutors must be requested before the end of the school day on the THURSDAY before the tutor is needed in the Learning Lounge. All tutoring sessions are ONE hour in length.
If you have requested a tutor and a tutor is available, you will recieve an email from a coordinator concerning the details of your request.
The Saturday Learning Lounge staff member on duty is not there to tutor students but to ensure that ALL students have a safe, quiet and comfortable space to work. The staff will be there to answer questions and to guide students but they will not be responsible for the length of time students attend or the amount or quality of the work completed.
Students and parents may email any of the student coordinators. Click the contact link at the top of the page. If you are a parent and have questions/concerns for the adult staff, please email Assistant Principal David Serensits (email@example.com).
Please email the SLL Coordinators (Neil Menon, Kat Hansen, & Laura Whitaker) at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions/concerns.
